On Thursday 23rd November a party of S3 Graphics pupils presented their projects to the staff of the Northern Lighthouse Board (NLB) in George Street, Edinburgh.
The NLB, formed in 1786, is responsible for operating and maintaining every lighthouse and warning system around the Scottish coast - a huge undertaking.
The folios covered all areas of the Graphics course, from Computer Aided Design (CAD) and technical drawing to illustration and presentation graphics. All members of staff were very impressed with the pupils and their work; each of the projects was of the very highest quality with many outstanding features.
The pupils all received an achievement certificate, detailing the project scope which they can include in their School Achievements Record. Like real life engineers, this will help record their continual professional development (CPD) which can be used with their CV's when applying for employment or further education.
The pupils were a great credit to themselves and the school, showing great maturity and confidence to present their work in such an impressive setting to members of staff from across many areas of the NLB operational structure.
