Bursary/Mentoring
Bursary/Mentoring Opportunities for University Applicants facing financial barriers
Lawscot Foundation
The Lawscot Foundation is committed to supporting talented young people who have the potential to benefit from and contribute to the legal profession. Our aim is to ensure that if you have drive and talent, money will not be a barrier to becoming a solicitor in Scotland.
We aim to support at least eight students in 2019 by providing them with a bursary package of £2,500 per year during their studies, and a solicitor mentor to assist with careers advice.
We will give priority to individuals from less-advantaged backgrounds, so your social and economic situation will be taken into consideration.
The application form and further information, including eligibility criteria, can be found at www.lawscotfoundation.org.uk/apply
Closing date for applications is 24 May 2019.
ICAS Foundation
The ICAS Foundation supports academically talented young people from less advantaged backgrounds by helping them take their first steps into a professional career in accountancy or finance.
You could be eligible for an ICAS Foundation bursary of up to £2,500 per year to help with travel, accommodation and study costs.
Students who receive an ICAS Foundation bursary also take part in our mentoring programme and receive support to access internships.
If your parent/guardian's income is below £34,000 and you are eligible for a bursary from SAAS you could be eligible to apply.
Our full eligibility criteria, application forms and guidelines are available on our website www.icasfoundation.org.uk
Closing date for applications is 31 May 2019.
