Young Musician

Three pupils were selected to represent Inveralmond Community High School at Round 2 of the Currie Balerno Rotary Club sponsored competition.

Joel Murray performed a folk set on the mandolin, Megan Temple sung Nella Fantasia, accompanied by Mrs. Muir and Fraser Borland performed an arrangement of the Swan on Baritone Saxophone, accompanied by Mr. Shaw.

The three Advanced Higher Music pupils competed at Heriot Watt University against a very high standard from several other schools in the authority.

All of our performers were outstanding but Fraser Borland managed to win Best Instrumentalist at the competition and will be back at Heriot Watt University in February for round 3.

This follows from the success last year by Mark Elwis, meaning a second year of first place and a second year of moving on to the next round for Inveralmond Community High Schools Music Department.
