Purple Friday
We are having a dress down day in support of purple Friday
Article 2 of the UNCRC states: "All Children have these rights, no matter who they are, where they live, what their parents do, what language they speak, what their religion is, whether they are a boy or girl, what their culture is, whether they have a disability, whether they are rich or poor. No child should be treated unfairly, on any basis".
With this in mind, this Friday February 28th is Purple Friday. In celebration of diversity within the school we have decided to have a dress down day where pupils are encouraged to wear a colour from the LGBT+ Pride flag. Colours include pink, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange and red.
We are also encouraging young people to purchase a pride badge at 20p. They will be available Thursday & Friday this week. Mr Boyle is currently raising the profile of equality and inclusion at year group assemblies.
Rights Respecting School
As a school we are very proud of our silver status as part of the Rights Respecting School programme. We are currently working towards our Rights Respecting Gold Award.
