'Street Belonging' S3 assembly

30 September
ICHS

Inveralmond Community High School in partnership with Police Scotland are excited to welcome Graeme Armstrong, a best-selling, award-winning author, broadcaster and doctoral researcher who will present the 'Street Belonging' event to our S3 students.

This will be held within Inveralmond Community High School on the morning of Tuesday 7th October 2025.

'Street Belonging' offers a hard-hitting look at Scottish gang culture, drawing on Graeme's personal experiences from the 2000s and his career in violence prevention. It explores a social history of gangs, including modern influences like drill music and online misogyny. The session also covers difficult topics such as knife violence, substance abuse, and gender-based violence.

The session aims to be aspirational, focusing on the themes of healing, connection, and the transformative power of education and compassion, cementing themes already discussed as part of the PSE timetable.
