Study Space during Study Leave
Dear Parent/Carer,
Further to the information we provided previously about study leave, we're writing to remind you that any young person who is on study leave has the option of signing into school to make use of our supervised study space.
Many of our young people have told us they study better in school. Please speak to your young person and encourage them to get signed up if you feel they would benefit from this.
In order to use the space, pupils must sign up for the days they intend on using this space. A sign in/sign out system will operate. Due to the fact that all pupils are on Study Leave, no attendance groupcalls will be provided to report on attendance.
The school will provide a space with desks and computers and a member of staff to supervise and ensure that the rules of the study space are upheld.
To use the ICHS Supervised Study Space all pupils must: attend in full school uniform; stay in the room for the duration of the study slot they have booked; only use the time and space for study; bring any required materials; only access the dining hall and social areas during break and lunchtimes; adhere to normal school rules regarding mobile phone use and our values of Honesty, Kindness, Respect and Aspiration.
The following are not possible in the ICHS Study Space: coming and going from the room; studying in any other part of the school other than the allocated room;
During Study Leave, teachers are engaged in other tasks. It cannot be assumed that teachers will be available at normal period times. If any student wishes to see a teacher, they should contact the teacher and agree a time to sign in.
Pupils wishing to use the ICHS Supervised Study Space must sign up using this link: ICHS Supervised Study Space (opens new window)
